Burn at CBGB, NYC, 10/14/1990

Seeing these Burn videos on YouTube have really brought back a lot of memories. These guys were playing a ton of the shows I was going to around 1990 and although I wasn't at this particular show at CB's, so many of the Burn shows I saw were a lot like this. Intense, scary, crazy, new, original, unique, powerful, heavy, violent, are just a few words that come to mind. They were easily one of my favorite bands of that era and to this day. And no doubt, Chaka was one of the greatest frontmen. Dude had so much energy and raised the bar so high for all frontmen of that time period. Amazing stuff and people really connected with it all...     @ 11:46 - in the 2nd video watch - Gavin (guitar) - sneak attack this clown from the back.. wham oooo..... into the crowd. Damn i miss those days!

    someone could please repost the live recording at cbgbs (sometimes refferred as live 90/91) that was posted on the Blogged and Quartered site? there were some serious tunes up there for sure....

    Burn were amazing,i saw em when i was way too young to "get" them but fuck..Even if i didnt like em at first i had to recognize their sheer power.

    Remember the middlesex show when chaka lost his pager and cried like a baby? And gavin had a pre-show meltdown because the bass player was drunk, had been drinking with steve crud TP out of a flask! I bought some raw deal and youth of today shirts at that show, the "boiling point screens" = $170 each ebay

    also remember dropping gavin off at work in NYC once, at a gay nightclub, he was wearing denim overalls with no shirt on underneath. On the way there we stop at a health food store and he shoplifts dinner.
