New Cro-Mags / Harley's War track

Harley Flanagan posted this new Cro-Mags / Harley's War track on his Facebook page and said he'll be releasing something new in 2011. Pretty solid track, thought I'd share it. -Tim DCXX

    I'm confused.

  2. no need for a second alpha/omega album!

besides, the mags w/ JJ are the better mags.

  3. that's so untrue!

ok, jj does have a great voice and singing style, but where would the mags have been, if it wasn't for harley. he might be a dodgy character, but he was/is the musical brain of the mags. one should never forget that.

  4. here all this time I thought wholesale worship of the Bad Brains was the musical genius behind the Cro-Mags? Not that there is anything wrong with that but c'mon the best parts of the Mags are Bloodclot's vocals and the Brains' influence.

  5. To everyone saying the JJ-Mags are better than Harley: WHAT songs have the Cro-Mags ever written without Harley?? Like the guy or not, There are no Cro-Mags songs without Harley's involvement, AND the stuff Harley's done alone is MUUUCH better MUSICALLY than any band JJ has ever been in, with the exception of the original Cro-Mags.

  6. i'm the Anonymous in the second post here.

i did not say harley is a bad musician or that JJ is the better cro-mag. i'm just sayin' cro-mags without JJ is shit & the song posted here shit too. it sounds like shitty alpha/omega album... no need for that.

  7. No JJ, Mackie and Parris.
    "New Cro-Mags / Harley's War track"= FAIL!!

    JJ's new Cro-Mags lineup = WIN

  8. The public spoke on this years ago and JJ won and will seemingly always win.

  9. Well, lucky for JJ that Harley was there to make the music then. Otherwise, he'd be the 'public choice,' the winner, up there on stage with 'his' Cro-Mags, with no songs to play...

  10. Love the main riff... too bad everything else sucks. I'm definitely team JJ.

  11. Music is good. Vocals not very good at all, just like Best Wishes.

  12. sounds like discharge hehe

  13. Vocals are just god awful. Not worth mentioning. Music sounds like lackluster "spirit of '86" crossover. Put this one on the 2011records to avoid list. Seriously though, this is really bad.

  15. so in 2011 we will have the jj record and the hf flanagan records... what will be the best???? i'll make a poll iff i were the webmaster of DC!

Is the Kool Aid thing a reference to Jim Jones? What is the connection with the Mags, other than the obvious 'cult' business.

By the way, your ID name rocks... bet most people here wouldn't get the joke.

I'll put my two cents into the hat here. This song tickles the taint. It does sound like Best Wishes era Mags... and that is fuckin' great as far as I am concerned. Someone else commented that the Discharge sound is there. True... but it always has been.

Fuck all the meaningless drivel about which band rocks more. Just listen to all of it. It all sounds good compared with 99.9999% of the watered-down-boy-band-face-painted-tight-pants-wanne-be-motley-crue bands pretending to be heavy.
    Cheers.

  17. Best Wishes & White Devil stood on their own as good releases.. Maybe not up to par with Age of Quarrel, but they had some great songs ( Death Camps & These Streets ). Harley has EVERY right to the Cro-Mag name and SHOULD release new material as Cro-Mags. He should get paid & tour with it. THERE'S NO REASON in the world that JJ can get paid and he can't. Some people will like it, some won't. That's LIFE.

  18. I just laugh every time I read about this beef. I don't even know what the beef is about - and no, I'm not going to buy their books to learn why. I spend about as much time caring about this stuff as I do on the likes of Jon and Kate Gosselin.

Which, by the way, is exactly who JJ and Harley are in the world of hardcore.

  20. Finally another jj vs harley discussion. It's been a while...

  21. anyone who thinks this song isn't better than whatever garbage the JJ cro-mags are gonna put out this year is totally out of their mind.

i'm not the hugest cro-mags fan, and while i like AOQ and even bestwishes, the current nut jocking of them has GOT TO STOP. they're a band whose entire recorded output has been something like 15% great hardcore then 85% horrible metal.

seriously, as good as the cover band JJ has put together is, wouldn't you rather see and support a new, strugling hardcore band who HASN'T let you down a million times before instead?

without paris and harley it's just not the cro-mags, i could even deal with petey instead of mackie.

if the new record jj's mags put out is even listenable i'll eat my hat.
