We played a gig with Spinal Tap, Slayer and the Blasters and wrecked the place! That night we were UNTOUCHABLE! We were in a zone that nobody could get near! John Doe and Jeffrey Lee Pierce both agreed that they'd never seen anything like us. This line up with Earl and Chuck was easily one of my faves!"

ReplyDeletethat flea and chuck biscuits gig, many people says is the best hardcore punk concert in rock history. they kicked slayer fans asses. has somebody been in that concert?, are there videos of this show?, the greatest hardcore show ever!!!!.
ReplyDeleteAwesome Flag with Keith pics. Weren't they already called Black Flag by the time Robo joined, or were they still Panic? I know the Nervous Breakdown E.P. was recorded before Robo was in the band.
ReplyDeletebrian "dol" migdol was the first drummer, he's on the "nervous breakdown" ep. then robo came in and they were still called panic. i think they played some shows as panic with robo. so robo was the original black flack drummer.

ReplyDeleteI've got to admit that Off! has to be one of the lamest things I've ever witnessed/heard. Anyone who thinks this shit is cool is either clueless or mentally stuck in the past. The riding of coat tails is just so sad, especially when some of the players involved are obviously super talented musicians. The Circle Jerks had one good record and continued to milk it for years and years. It's obvious that Keith Morris still gives a shit, but why do a band? Perhaps open a coffee shop or a massage parlor. I would totally support those business ventures.
ReplyDeletethe circle jerks had three great records. "wild in the streets" original mix on faulty products is fuckin' excellent. remixing hc punk records (most of the times) doesn't work. "golden shower of hits" is pretty good too, but the digital version fucked up the end of the songs. i saw "off!" last summer, they're were good, but nothing as wild as the circle jerks circa 1980-1984.
ReplyDeleteBottom line is Keith Morris loves music enough to keep playing and going out there and doing it. For that I give him mega props. Of course Flag and the early Jerks stuff rules, but in this day and age a band like OFF! is very welcome and fun to see live. Rock on Keith!
