25 years and still plugging away in the music business. What's amazing to me is constantly realizing just how much my participation in the Hardcore scene has taught me...life lessons. I am thankful for all of it, but most of all these days, I'm thankful for my beautiful wife and daughter who keep my head on straight and moving forward. BROOKLYN!

ReplyDeletehey now, this is the person responsible for those two 24-7 spyz records we all mosh to so frequently. give respect!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have never, once, wondered where this guy was.
ReplyDeleteWho's next? That dude in the stripes.....what's his name? Oh yeah...Wally!!
ReplyDeletea.f. - live at cb's
ReplyDeletesoia - blood, sweat & no tears
killing time - brightside
madball - ball of destruction...
what have you dip-shits contributed to the hardcore community? oh yeah, nothing.
on a side note, where's the interview with tommy carroll we were promised, howie?...
Yeah, I agree with Tim, Howie was a pretty major player in the NYHC scene and had a lot to do with some pretty monumental records of the time. Although he didn't have a whole lot to say with this Where Are They Now piece, I think he was someone worthy of hearing from.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I agree with Tim, Howie was a pretty major player in the NYHC scene and had a lot to do with some pretty monumental records of the time. YES! This guy had a great ear at one time. He sure did put on a lot of weight, though didn’t he?
ReplyDeletethough we live in a democratic society and everyone can have their say some peoples opinions are full of shit.
ReplyDeletenice lil blurb from howie. i def agree with the life lessons part. i cant remember if there some earlier posts about him, but i def think if you are talking east coast hc, ny hc, or metal and hardcore breaking the mainstream, in effect gets mentioned.
IN EFFECT IS HARDER THAN YOU ANONY
wish some of these pieces were longer. some people kind of seem like they put little to no effort into them.
ReplyDeleteANDREW SCUM = WHERE ARE THEY NOW ??
ReplyDeleteThe people want to know
Wish that 'Live in NYC' in-effect video from 91 gets re-released. Such a great show.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this Tim and Gordo. Now - because I have poor impulse control...
ReplyDelete* Anonymous 12:09 and
Anonymous 8:55 - You don't even have enough balls to use some bullshit FAKE name to hide behind your posts???
* Giles and Xism57 - you'd be better off remaining Anonymous.
* Tim - thanks and unfortunately, after agreeing to do the interview, Tommy decided not to do it. I'm bummed too.
* Chef Boyardee - Yeah, I put on a few... That was 26 years ago...what can you do?
* Anonymous 10:53 - Still trying to put that thing out on DVD with bonus footage (we have A LOT).
And if by some chance you want to hear more of what I have to say, DCXX was gracious enough to do a multi-part interview with me about In-Effect etc. a while back so you can find that on this site.
Respect,
Howie
